This scene is one of my favorites, partly because it involves Bobo the Garden Gnome, but mostly? It unintentionally became a way to pay homage to my late father, Tom Kane.

When I wrote the character, Stretch Armstrong Satan—who is literally a Stretch Armstrong doll that thinks he’s Satan—the go-to voice in my head was always HIM from The Powerpuff Girls, originally voiced by my dad.

Out of everything he did, HIM was always my favorite character.

Fun Fact about HIM: During PPG’s run, Tom Kane’s character held the record for receiving the most hate mail out of any character on Cartoon Network. The most triggering episode was the one where HIM licks Professor Utonium in the face, which is just hilarious, because it’s basically Tom Kane licking himself.
