Republicans Insist Trump’s Appearance Due to Stroke, Definitely Not His Human Skin Suit Deteriorating

New York City, N.Y. — Top Republicans rushed to reassure the public Monday that President Donald Trump’s sagging face during the 9/11 memorial was the result of a minor stroke, and not, as critics have alleged, the unmistakable signs of his human skinsuit beginning to peel away.

“The president is in perfect health aside from a small neurological event,” said House Speaker Mike Johnson, pointedly ignoring the yellow-green bruising visible around Trump’s wrists. “Any suggestion that his human carapace is deteriorating under the strain of containing his true reptilian form is disinformation from the radical left.”

Party officials have been quick to explain away Trump’s recent symptoms, including swollen ankles, scaling at the neck, and a faint ammonia-like odor. “That smell? Oh, he just peed himself," said Senator Ted Cruz, "His epidermal membrane isn't sloughing off in sheets. No siree!”

Pressed on whether the president’s eyes briefly blinked sideways during his memorial appearance, a White House spokesperson claimed the cameras “must have caught him mid-squint. With those sagging assholes for eyes, it can be confusing. They certainly weren't nictitating membranes.”

Other GOP figures took aim at Hillary Clinton, claiming the press had a double standard. “They never made a big deal when Hillary accidentally hissed during the 2016 debates. They never called out Biden when he spent 18 hours a day in the Oval Office, sitting on his favorite sunning rock underneath a heat lamp,” complained Rep. Margerie Taylor Greene. “But when Trump’s jaw briefly unhinges at a memorial to swallow a live vole, suddenly it’s a national crisis.”
